What does it take to lead in an evolving defence and security landscape?
The new UNSW Business School MBAX (Security & Defence) program equips experienced professionals to shape decisions across defence, government, and industry.
Designed and delivered by the Australian Graduate School of Management (AGSM) and UNSW Canberra at the Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA), the program combines world-class business education with specialist courses in security, defence policy and international relations.
Alongside core MBA courses in leadership, strategy, finance, and analytics, students delve into defence-focused electives such as Contemporary Warfare, Foundations of Modern Strategy, Global Security, Asia-Pacific Security, and Australian Defence Policy: Concepts and Challenges.
The MBAX (Security & Defence) was created in partnership with Security & Defence PLuS, a trilateral university partnership between UNSW, King’s College London, and Arizona State University. This international dimension connects students to global perspectives, cutting-edge research, and networks across allied nations, grounding learning in both Australian and international contexts.
Flexible in structure and delivery, the MBAX (Security & Defence) allows learners to balance professional commitments while building the skills and connections to step into senior leadership roles. The program can be completed over two to four years through online, distance-learning and blended face-to-face study.
Whether you are seeking career progression, a move into leadership or a new strategic focus, this program prepares you to make an impact across defence, government and beyond.
