Andrew Taylor

Dr. Andrew Taylor is a member of the Defence Studies Department (DSD) of King’s College London, working at the Joint Services Command and Staff College, Defence Academy of the UK. He joined DSD in August 2018 after attaining his PhD from Lancaster University, where he researched the evolution of principles of maritime strategy and taught politics and international relations subjects to undergraduates. He is the current DSD Academic Director for the Intermediate Command and Staff Course (Maritime), providing professional military education to serving Royal Navy officers. Dr. Taylor’s research interests are focused on maritime strategy and maritime security. He has presented his work at such notable events as the Statesmen and Seapower Conference (National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth, 2015) and the Vice Chief of the Defence Staff’s Forum on China (International Institute for Strategic Studies, 2019).
