Sarah Tzinieris

Dr Sarah Tzinieris is a Research Fellow in the Centre for Science and Security Studies in the Department of War Studies at King’s College London. She holds a MPhil and PhD in International Relations from the University of Cambridge. Sarah has broad-ranging research interests but is currently focusing on nuclear security, non-proliferation, China’s expanding sanctions regime, AUKUS and the Indo-Pacific, British foreign policy, and current and emerging challenges to the international order. Sarah is co-editing The Oxford Handbook of Nuclear Security, the first comprehensive volume to be written on nuclear security, which is being published by Oxford University Press. She is also supporting the Security & Defence strand of the PLuS Alliance, and previously she contributed to the Nuclear Security Culture Programme, a multi-million pound academia-industry consortium funded by the UK government to strengthen the security of nuclear and radiological materials around the world. Before taking up an academic position, Sarah worked at the BBC as a Strategist and prior to that in consultancy focusing on political risk, economic development and sustainability. She also served as a UN Security Council Adviser for the European Union Delegation to the UN in New York.
